2012 was a really great year for me. I had some personal milestones (such as turning 30!) but I also shot some incredible weddings and engagement sessions both in Palm Beach and along the east coast of the US. Here are my favorite 12(ish) images from this past year in no particular order.
Location – This family farm outside of Charleston, South Carolina was an amazing venue for an intimate southern wedding. Owned by the groom’s family since 1890, it was a dream for me as a photographer.
Ceremony – These are from Tonya and Dale’s ceremony outside of the Dr Phillips House at The Courtyard at Lake Lucerne in Orlando, FL. I love the expression of joy and excitement on Tonya and Dale’s face as they are leaving the ceremony. It’s one of the many reasons why I have a passion for capturing weddings.
Candid – I love capturing the “in between” moments when no one knows I’m photographing them. In this image a brother in his military blues gets ready to walk his sister, the bride, down the aisle.
I also really loved this one of the Father of Groom reading from his bible before the ceremony.
Bride and Groom Portrait – I adore this bride and groom portrait from Adela and Pope’s wedding at the Sailfish Club of Florida on Palm Beach. I love shooting by the water. There is just something about the sea that inspires me and feels so romantic, especially with the sun setting.
Bridal Party Portraits – Seriously, how dapper are these groomsmen?!?!? This was shot on the croquet lawn at the Everglades Club on Palm Beach.
Details - I LOVE to shoot details so it was really hard for me to pare down my favorites but here is a few from various weddings.
Engagement Session – I recently found Riverbend Park in Jupiter and it is now one of my favorite places to shoot. I loved this engagement session with Johanna and Ryan because they were so comfortable sharing their love in front of my camera. Their dog O.P who also came along for the session is also seriously adorable and I could’t resist putting his sweet face in my best of 2012.
Bridal Portrait – Although not a traditional bridal portrait since Archer is wearing her Lily Pulitzer “send off” dress, I am just so in love with this pairing of a classic beauty and a gorgeous Palm Beach garden.
I can’t wait to share all the gorgeousness that will be sure to come in 2013!
